Welcome Spring

That also means Welcome Tornado season, where we used to live. And what's this: a tornado in Southeast Washington State on the first day of spring? No. Just kinda looks like it. If it were real, the sky would be black, not blue. Living in tornado alley for 6 years, let me just say WOW to the weather there. Scary and awesome at the same time. Truly amazing.

One day last week, it "hailed" here too. NOT!!! Though everyone here thought it was hail. It was just round, crunchy snow. This is what you call real hail! We had this every year in Amarillo. Always in storms with tornados. We never had a tornado thank goodness touch down on us, but we did get the hail. Thank goodness for a double garage to protect our vehicles. Any vehicle left outside turned into a "dimpled darlings" as they were called. And usually had broken windows. You could get great deals at the car lots, if you bought a Dimpled Darling.

What I'm really missing right now, are the spectacular wildflowers that carpet the land in Texas right now. Especially the bluebonnets and indian paintbrush. Bulb flowers don't grow so well there though, so I'm very excited for the daffodils and tulips to bloom here soon. The first crocus have bloomed so far.
