Hanna's Guitar Progress

Last week was the end of year showcase for all the after school/before school clubs, to share what they did this year. Hanna has gone to guitar 3 mornings each week. She actually has to catch a ride to seminary with Alana, if she wants to go to guitar. What a sport, going to seminary 2 years earlier than she has to. There's actually a couple other kids Hanna's age that have had to go to seminary in order to get to school each morning too. They have a nice little group to hang out with in the foyer of the church each morning. But this is supposed to be mostly about guitar, so getting back on topic:

Hanna has really enjoyed learning beginning guitar this year. I think it's extra nice in the group, because there isn't any individual pressure. That can be good or bad. If they want, they don't have to learn a thing. That's okay too, but it appears that if they're willing to go to school early to do it, then they pretty much want to learn. Free guitar lessons are awesome! The teacher is great too. At the end of last year, Hanna was most sad to not have Ms. Parker as her literature teacher anymore, b/c she was her favorite teacher last year. But then when she joined guitar club, she got to have Ms Parker again. Yippee!

Does she seem to have a perma-smile?

Hanna's favorite songs were "Bamba" and "Smoke on the Water." Hanna got to play bass guitar on "Smoke on the Water."

This isn't Hanna's favorite song, but I think it was one of their better songs, as a group. They played all their songs as dinner music, while the audience ate a pizza dinner. It was very nice, and family friendly, and made it easier to enjoy with 2 wiggle worms. (Troy missed it, b/c it was the same time as the math class he's teaching this quarter, so he wasn't there to help me with Bridger and Molly. Then I was also trying to record it so Troy could see it later. Seth and Aspen were a big help, and it also helped that the music was loud enough to cover up the little kids noise!)



And then, on our way home, we passed some of our favorite friends here, out for an enjoyable evening ride. A family with 4 boys, and they just had their first baby girl this week! This isn't the best picture, but at least no one was too close behind us, so we could slow down and try to get some sorta picture. (They have 2 draft horses hitched up to their little buggy.)
